SAMMY FIGUEROA’S: SEARCHING FOR A MEMORY Featuring Gonzalo Rubalcaba and Aymée Nuviola Saturday, October 7 at 7:30pm Legendary percussionist Sammy Figueroa presents the music from his latest album "Searching For A Memory.” Joined by the great Cuban maestro, pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba and the revered Cuban singer Aymée Nuviola, Figueroa pays tribute to his late father — Charlie Figueroa — known as one of the most romantic bolero singers of the 1950s. Born into a gypsy family, he grew up singing and at the age of eleven won his first television contest. Aged 18, he recorded his first album and joined Carlos Saura's company. In the ensuing decade and a half, he has released four more – Amor, was nominated for the 2021 Latin Grammys and his latest Pura Sangre released May this year– and a series of singles working with maverick producer El Guincho, who brought orchestral electronic enhancements to the raw beauty of his free-flowing voice and telepathic guitar accompaniment of long-time collaborator Diego del Morao.
