(PRESS RELEASE)_DELRAY BEACH, FL – Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is pleased to host “Meet the Artist in the Gallery” with famed Japanese jewelry designer Maeda Asagi on Saturday, November 4, from 11am to 1pm. Visitors are invited to meet Ms. Maeda who, along with Morikami’s Japanese art curator Carla Stansifer, will present her new exhibit, Stories on the Planet: Jewelry of Maeda Asagi, on public view from November 4 through April 7, 2024. The exhibit highlights over 50 pieces of her work including Stories on the Planet, a wearable piece of art portraying 32 cities in 28 countries and consisting of eight removable brooches combined to make one necklace. Additionally, three lucky museum guests will have a chance to win a personalized sketch by Maeda Asagi which will feature a piece of jewelry based on one’s personal story. Museumgoers are also encouraged to create and display their own works of art in the gallery’s Creativity Center. Art materials are provided at no charge.
