(Press Release) Palm Beach County, FL - Speak Up for Kids of Palm Beach County is delighted to announce the return of its beloved annual event, StoryBook Village, set to unfold in the enchanting surroundings of Mounts Botanical Garden on Sunday, March 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. This magical afternoon promises a journey into the world of stories for children and families, offering an escape into imagination and joy. Now in its eighth year, StoryBook Village once again brings the StoryBook Booths, each curated by local organizations including foster agencies, child service agencies, educational entities for young children, literary groups, and more. These booths are designed to engage children in interactive activities that spark creativity and a love for reading. The event is proudly open to the public and entirely free of charge, ensuring access for all families, foster, adopted and biological, wishing to partake in this unique experience.
Highlighting the significance of the event, Coleen LaCosta, Executive Director of Speak Up For Kids, shared, "Events like StoryBook Village are pivotal for the community, offering hope to children who have faced unimaginable challenges. It's a day where the trauma of the past can be momentarily set aside, allowing children to enter into the magical world of stories. We're immensely grateful to Mounts Botanical Garden for their partnership, enabling us to bring together the community in this collective moment of hope and happiness." Approximately 2,000 books will be available for adoption during the event, encouraging children to continue their reading adventures at home. Speak Up for Kids is dedicated to advocating for and addressing the direct needs of children within the Palm Beach County Foster System. By providing a voice for those often left unheard, Speak Up for Kids works tirelessly to ensure every child can pursue a life defined not by their past, but by their potential.
