(PRESS RELEASE)_Feb. 6, 2023 (WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.) – The Armory Art Center’s latest exhibit will feature stunning artworks by four emerging artists. The exhibit is free and open to the public from February 9 through March 3, 2023. The Artists-in-Residence exhibition will feature works in varying mediums created by this year’s program participants. The program attracts a diverse group of artists with varied disciplines with at least a BFA and experience teaching in a studio environment. This year’s participants are Tony Baker, a sculptor from New York; Maria Camera-Smith, a jewelry artist from Ohio; Hannah Scrima, a ceramicist from Pennsylvania; and John Lark, a painting, drawing, and 2D media artist from New York. “These four artists were able to grow their unique skills and talents at the Armory Art Center,” said John Suau, CEO. “In addition to teaching courses and assisting in this season’s exhibitions, residents were given individual studio spaces to develop new works during the program. Each artist brought creativity, dedication, and a fresh perspective to our campus. We are honored to celebrate their hard work with this fantastic exhibition.” The participants also refined their teaching skills by instructing special workshops and eight-week courses. Our artists-in-residence receive a monthly stipend for teaching and extracurricular events in the community. The Artists-in-Residence exhibition will be displayed in Montgomery Hall, Greenfield Gallery, and East Gallery. The Armory Art Center invites the public to enjoy a complimentary opening reception ($5 suggested donation) for the show on Thursday, February 9, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The 2022-2023 Artist-in-Residence program is sponsored by the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation. Comments are closed.
