"Life without Mexican food is like no life at all" -- Unknown Heeding the words of their own signage, Cabo Flats is rapidly spreading their Mexican food franchises throughout South Florida. Already in Jupiter, Delray Beach, Stuart and West Palm Beach, new locations are opening soon in Miami and Pembroke Pines. We had an opportunity to stop by their newest location at CityPlace in West Palm Beach, at 550 South Rosemary across from Macy's. Featuring their signature Mexican folk art murals, and a cozy outdoor firepit, diners enjoy the flavorful, authentic cuisine that has propelled their popularity. Start with a cocktail -- make mine a lemon drop martini -- and one of their famous appetizers, like the Mexican Street Corn or their best seller, the Avocado Fries. Pair that with chips and salsa, and a big bowl of mouth-watering guacamole, and you're all set. There are entrees to suit every taste, but be forewarned: The portions are HUGE. So come hungry or get a "to go" box. Likewise on the desserts. We had the largest serving of flan ever, and every bite was better than the last. The waffle/banana/ice cream is also worth saving room. The best part is, if you live in South Florida, you won't ever have to experience life without Mexican food.
