(PRESS RELEASE)_DELRAY BEACH, FL – Konnichiwa! Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month at Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach.
The zen oasis will showcase a plethora of adult and family-friendly programming, including the new art exhibit, Behind the Wall: Visions of the Asian Experience in America, featuring powerful works by five legendary Japanese and Asian American mural artists. Behind the Wall runs May 7 through September 25, 2022.
Throughout May, the museum is rolling out a to-do list of cultural endeavours, from sumi-e ink painting and the verdant beauty of bonsai to ikebana, the refined art of Japanese floral arrangement. And ocha lovers will enjoy the Way of Tea: Sado Demonstration on May 21, which showcases a luxurious tea ceremony from start to sip. For more information on May events, visit morikami.org/event-calendar.
And Morikami looks forward to spoiling mom on Mother's Day. Treat haha ("mother" in Japanese) to an après-stroll, Pan-Asian lunch at the Cornell Café, overlooking the museum's private lake. Moms receive a complimentary drink with lunch purchase.
