(PRESS RELEASE)_JUPITER, FL—Since its invention in fifteenth-century Scotland, whiskey has gained a devout following for its drinkability and timeless flavors. British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill mixed Johnnie Walker Red with water for a quotidian tipple. Frank Sinatra was buried with a bottle of Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 and Anchorman’s Ron Burgundy said it best when he slurred, “Mm, I love scotch. Scotchy-scotch-scotch. Here it goes down into my belly. Mm-mm-mm.” On Saturday, May 20, or World Whisky Day, Blackbird Modern Asian is proud to serve its “Modern Fashioned” ($16; or $8 during happy hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.) in honor of the evergreen elixir. Modeled after the classic Old Fashioned—a whiskey-infused tipple with movie-star status—the “Modern Fashioned” is reprised with Misunderstood ginger spiced whiskey, Skrewball peanut butter whiskey, and angostura bitters and a garnish of toasted marshmallow and strawberry.
