(PRESS RELEASE)_Greenwich, CT - 05/06/2021 - The Greenwich Hospitality Group announced West Bay Beach, a Delamar Resort, in Traverse City, MI, will have undergone a property-wide transformation and name change following a $10 million+ two-year-long renovation. Rebranded as Delamar Traverse City, the 173-room waterfront hotel has been elevated to offer luxe amenities and a standard of guest service like no other in the area. Traverse City’s only full-service upscale resort features a complimentary glass of bubbly at check-in, richly appointed guest rooms with floor to ceiling windows offering views of Lake Michigan’s Grand Traverse Bay, reimagined public spaces, heated indoor pool with hot tub and sauna, heated outdoor pool with cabanas, waterfront patio dining, Bulgari bath amenities, evening turndown service, valet parking, concierge and bell services, 24-hour airport shuttle, and an array of amenities including on site yoga classes, e-bike and watercraft rentals, sunset cruises and private charters. Delamar Traverse City features over 4,000 square feet of elegant private event space including a waterfront terrace for social and corporate gatherings. Artisan, Waterfront Restaurant & Tavern, Delamar’s highly acclaimed signature fine dining restaurant, will open in June. Future plans call for further room upgrades, a full-service Delamar Spa, and protected docking facility for overnight and transient visitors. "We’ve really enjoyed being a part of the Northern Michigan community over the past two years and spearheading the transformation of one of Traverse City’s first hotels," said Charles Mallory CEO of Greenwich Hospitality Group. "We’re eager to introduce guests to Delamar Traverse City and offer them an exclusive and extraordinary boutique experience on Lake Michigan’s Grand Traverse Bay." According to Mallory, the building’s new façade pays homage to the original design of the hotel that was built in 1968, and headboards in luxury suites are created from an old willow tree that was on the property. Also, Delamar Traverse City shares the distinctive charm exemplified by the award-winning Delamar hotels in West Hartford, Southport, and Greenwich, CT. All share a striking visual aesthetic incorporating original art, such as Jonny Swing’s coin chair displayed in the lobby. The Greenwich Hospitality Group acquired West Bay Beach Holiday Inn Resort in January 2019 and has managed the renovation while the property remained open. The purchasing entity, DELAMAR Traverse City, LLC, consists of mostly Michiganders with multi-generational ties to Grand Traverse and Leelanau Counties. The ownership group is comprised of Charles Mallory CEO of GHG and George Cochran, an entrepreneur who lives in Maple City, MI. Cunningham-Limp of Novi and Traverse City, Ghafari Concept Design of Grand Rapids, and Kyle Evans of Northport and Miami provided construction and design services, respectively.
