(PRESS RELEASE)_DELRAY BEACH, FL – The Delray Beach Open has announced that its annual “Survivor” event will be returning on November 17-20, and local amateur tennis players are invited to sign up by Wednesday, November 14.

The winner of the 128-draw and “Survivor” pre-qualifying event will be awarded a wildcard entry into Delray Beach Open’s official qualifying tournament (February 16-17, 2019). With two more match wins there, he will have survived and made the main draw of the $650,000 Delray Beach Open ATP World Tour event and earned a chance to play the game’s top, world-ranked elite, win prize money, earn ATP points, and attract the attention of local and international media.

Delray Beach Open’s “Survivor” tournament is an official USTA Florida-sanctioned Men’s Open event annually attracting local club players and club pros, college players, nationally-ranked juniors and even ranked ATP professionals.

Early rounds will be played at Pro World Tennis Academy (651 Egret Circle, Delray Beach) with semifinal and final matches at Delray Beach Stadium & Tennis Center (201 W. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach). All participants receive two complimentary tickets to one session of the 2019 Delray Beach Open and a 20% discount on individual tickets (must be purchased by December 31, 2018).

“With the Delray Beach Open’s continued commitment to giving those in the local community opportunities, we are excited to once again announce that we will be holding the “Survivor” event allowing the best local tennis talent to compete for an opportunity to play with the world’s best professional tennis players,” said Tournament Director, Mark Baron.

To register for the "Survivor" tournament, visit https://tennislink.usta.com/tournaments/TournamentHome/Tournament.aspx?T=207742 and use ID #150602318. For more information, visit https://yellowtennisball.com/Survivor.

Recently announced ATP World Tour players committed to playing the 2019 Delray Beach Open include returning 2018 Singles Champion and American star Frances Tiafoe along with ATP sensation Nick Kyrgios.

Having the most successful week of his young career when he captured his first ATP World Tour singles title at the Delray Beach Stadium and Tennis Center, Frances Tiafoe was the first wild card winner at Delray Beach and is the youngest American to win an ATP title since 19-year-old Andy Roddick won in Houston in 2002. He is also the first Next-Gen American to win a title and the eighth player to capture his first ATP title at Delray Beach.

Nick Kyrgios, currently ranked 40 on the ATP World Tour, is no stranger to the local community as he trains in nearby Boca Raton. Kyrgios, 23, has four singles titles under his belt, including the 2018 Brisbane International. Kyrgios is known for his unique style, character, and on-court flair for the dramatic.

Kyrgios has reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and Wimbledon Championships, the semifinals twice at the Miami Masters 1000 and the finals of the Cincinnati Masters 1000.  Kyrgios also boasts impressive wins over world #1 players Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray.

The 10-day 2019 Delray Beach Open will begin with an ATP Champions Tour team-event over President’s Day weekend (Friday, Feb. 15 - Sunday, Feb. 17), continue with the ATP World Tour singles and doubles draws starting on Monday, Feb. 18 and conclude with the ATP World Tour finals on Sunday, Feb. 24.

Series packages and individual seats are now on sale. Individual tickets start at $38. Courtside Box Series are available in Standard, Premium, and Platinum packages and start at $1,800 ($2,706 value), while on-court Best Seats in the House and covered Stadium Veranda packages are up to 60% off regular prices and start at $4,000 ($5,734 value). Series packages also include covered seating on Court 1, a new feature for the 2019 tournament.
