![]() (PRESS RELEASE)_JUPITER, FL—Transport dad to 1940’s Shanghai when you dine at Blackbird Modern Asian on Father’s Day. Whether seated beneath the outstretched limbs of a cherry blossom tree, in the shadow of a 16-foot golden Buddha, or in an antechamber whose soaring ceiling is bedecked with inverted white umbrellas, every spot offers an opulent feast for the eyes. Speaking of feasting, the menu reflects executive chef Tim Nickey’s masterful and innovative interpretation of Pan-Asian fare and is dotted with dim sum favorites and Chinatown-style staples elevated with bold and luscious flavors. Dad can delve into dishes like Chinese barbecue sticky beef short ribs ($19, 3 pieces) served in a “smoking” glass cloche that is removed tableside; a whole Peking duck accompanied with Chinese pancakes, Beijing garnish, and Chinatown hoisin sauce ($95, serves 2-4); lo mein noodles topped with huge chunks of garlic King crab and xo sauce ($48); and sweet & sour pork prepared with pork belly, dragon fruit, pineapple, and crispy shallots ($23). Before digging in, order a round from the mixologist-driven drink menu like The Blackbird, an eponymous tipple crafted from Skyy vodka, Amaro Lucano, cold brew, vanilla cream, and activated charcoal in the shape of a bird and complemented with a fortuitous chocolate fortune cookie ($15, or $7.50 during happy hour) or the Modern Fashioned ($16, or $8 during happy hour) made with Misunderstood ginger spiced whiskey, Skrewball whiskey, and angostura bitters and a garnish of toasted marshmallow and strawberry. End the meal on a decadent note with an extravagant celebration platter ($75, serves 4-6) sprinkled with assorted desserts, petit fours, exotic fruit, and chocolate prepared by executive pastry chef Denise Elrod, a renowned chocolatier and winner of The Food Network’s Guy’s Dessert Games.
