The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, a not-for-profit organization that leads partnerships with donors, nonprofits and community members to solve the region’s chronic and emerging issues, hosted its 11th Annual Founders Luncheon on February 28, 2024. The event, which was held at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach, was attended by nearly 590 guests. The event highlighted “Hope for Early Education” and celebrated the powerful philanthropic and nonprofit partners making a difference locally in early literacy. Co-hosts of the event were Jeffrey A. Stoops, Chair of the Board of Directors at the Community Foundation, and Danita R. DeHaney, President & CEO of the Community Foundation. Keynote speaker of the Founders Luncheon was Holly Lane, Ph.D., Director of the University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI) and associate professor of special education. George T. Elmore, Founder of Hardrives, Inc. and Community Foundation Legacy Society member, was the event’s Guest of Honor and 2024 McIntosh Award Recipient.
