How about taking a trip to Spain, without leaving home? While it wasn't quite the same as people-watching on the Ramblas in Barcelona -- one of our favorite places -- the wine tasting event at III Forks in Palm Beach Gardens Wednesday night was close. The event was their First Wednesday Wine Tasting, and this month the spotlight was on wines from Spain. We were joined by about 30 other guests to sample six wines, along with light hors d'oeuvres. We started with a white wine, the Arabako "Luzia de Ripa," Txakolina 2014. That was followed by the Ossian Quintaluna 2016 (100% verdejo), Xiloca Garnacha 2015 and three different tempranillos, the Gloriosa Crainza, Rioja 2015, the Dehasa la Granja (Castile and Leon 2008) and last, the Condado De Haza, Ribera del Duero Tinto, 2014. While they all had merit, our table voted for the last tempranillo as best of show. Always the best for last, right? First Wednesday Wine Tasting costs $25 per person and guests staying for dinner or après-event drinks at the bar will be treated to a 50% discount on featured wines by the glass or bottle. Reservations are required. For more information or to make a reservation, call (561) 630-3660 or visit 3forks.com/palmbeachgardens. III Forks is located at 4645 PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens. -- GERRY and PAMELA BARKER Comments are closed.
