(PRESS RELEASE)_(West Palm Beach, FL – May 14, 2019) The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts today announced that, due to construction, the Okeechobee Boulevard entrance and driveway will be closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic starting on Monday, May 20. The closure is expected to last through November 4, shortly before the launch of the Center’s 2019-2020 season.
During the five-month closure: + The only access to the Kravis Center will be though the main garage via the Tamarind Avenue and Iris Street entrances. Self-parking only, no valet parking will be available. + The Center’s main Box Office adjacent to Dreyfoos Hall will be temporarily located in the Rinker Playhouse, which will be open Monday-Friday, 10 am to 5 pm. Closed Saturday and Sunday unless there is a performance. The Box Office will open two hours prior to performance time. + Ticket buyers to upcoming concerts and shows are encouraged to purchase online through the Kravis Center’s official website at kravis.org; or by phone at 561.832.7469 or 800.572.8471. + Special events and youth education programs (ArtsCamp, the Broadway Artists Intensives) will continue in the Cohen Pavilion, and some performances will be staged in the Rinker Playhouse. About the Kravis 2020: The Future is Now Capital Campaign: The Kravis 2020: The Future is Now Capital Campaign will fund the renovation and expansion of the Kravis Center’s campus to enhance the customer experience for the over 500,000 people who attend events at the Kravis Center each year. The project, a result of the Board’s strategic planning process, will increase the size of the Dreyfoos Hall Lobby, create a welcoming, pedestrian-friendly plaza opening onto Okeechobee Boulevard, add a new valet parking garage, add a new entrance/exit ramp to the existing garage for self-parking guests, and will improve the overall traffic flow on and around the 10-acre campus. The project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2020 and will be funded through donations. Interruptions in the performance schedule are not anticipated.
