LWVPBC Sets Talk on Gun Violence

With Thomas Gabor, Ph.D., lead author with Fred Guttenberg—whose 14-year-old daughter was murdered in the Parkland high school shooting—of the best-selling book American Carnage: Shattering the Myths That Fuel Gun Violence (available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.).

​Dr. Gabor will discuss recent trends in gun violence, the sources and impact of misinformation, some key myths, and solutions to gun violence, including what the individual citizen can do.
 
A 30-year Professor of Criminology at Canada’s University of Ottawa, Dr. Gabor has published over 200 books, articles, and book chapters, and he has served as consultant and expert witness on gun violence for the United Nations, the Canadian Department of Justice and Border Services Agency, and Lord Cullen’s Inquiry into the massacre of children in Dunblane, Scotland (UK). In addition, he and Guttenberg have briefed both the White House and Congressional Democrats on gun violence.
 
Gabor’s recent media coverage include Time Magazine, CNN, and numerous appearances on MSNBC.
