(PRESS RELEASE)_DELRAY BEACH – On Mother's Day, May 12, treat your favorite haha (“mother” in Japanese) to an Asian-infused feast at the Morikami Museum’s Cornell Café with spectacular vistas of the Japanese gardens beyond. Kanpai! Cornell Café’ raises a glass to gracious holiday dining with selections that pay homage to traditional Japanese flavors and masterful technique. A three-course prix fixe menu ($24.95 per person) kicks off with a choice of an appetizer or a cocktail, such as a wakami salad with seaweed, sesame seeds, and mild peppers, or a chilled lychee bellini. Second course entrées range from gourmet bento boxes and sushi platters to a masago-wrapped mama roll prepared with ingredients like shrimp tempura and cream cheese and topped with coconut and tempura flakes. Ambrosial desserts, like cheesecake accompanied with fresh strawberries, or manju, rice paste-wrapped ice cream bon bons in flavors like mango, red bean, and green tea, end the meal on a sweet note. A separate three-course children's prix fixe menu is available for kids ages 12 and under ($8.95 per person). Museum members will receive an additional 10% off their checks with proof of membership. Mother's Day hours at the Cornell Café are 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Seating is first come, first served. Regular menu will not be available on Mother’s Day.
