(PRESS RELEASE)_(West Palm Beach, FL – August 19, 2019) Fatima NeJame, president and chief executive officer of the world renowned Palm Beach Photographic Centre (PBPC), today announced the opening this week of its next exhibition: 23rd Annual MEMBERS’ SHOW August 24 – October 26, 2019 Palm Beach Photographic Centre’s 23rd Annual MEMBERS’ SHOW is a juried exhibition that will showcase the work of its members, both inside the Photo Centre and on its Web site, www.workshop.org. Among the dozens of Photo Centre members that will be represented in the upcoming exhibition are seven from Palm Beach (Jacqueline Asplundh, Sergio De Araujo, Beth Karson, Sandi Pfeifer, Anita Seltzer, Leslie Slatkin, Ivy Yin) and several from West Palm Beach (Mongkol Boonwong-Glapinski, Lara Chapman, Cynthia Conley, Stuart Patt) and Palm Beach Gardens (Philip Dresden, Alan Green, Marilyn Samwick). Additional Florida photographers featured in the Members Show hail from Boca Raton, Bonita Springs, Coral Springs, Hobe Sound, Pompano Beach, and Wellington, as well as from New York. The Juror for the 23rd Annual Members Show is Lewis Kemper, a widely recognized photographer, writer, and instructor, who lectures throughout the United States. Currently, he is a Contributing Editor to Outdoor Photographer. Kemper was the photographer for Ancient Ancestors of the Southwest, published by Graphic Arts Center Publishing, and his monograph Capturing the Light won the People’s Choice Awards in Fine Art in the 2009 Photography.Book.Now competition. Kemper’s Photographing Yosemite Digital Field Guide was voted in the top 20 field guides, and his DVD, My Stretch of the River: A Photographer’s Journal, features a year’s worth of photography and journal entries on the American River in Sacramento. His recent publications include the photo guide apps, “Yosemite National Park SNAPPGuide” and “Yellowstone National Park SNAPPGuide”. A Best of Show cash prize of $950 will be awarded, as will two Merit Awards for free tuition for a FOTOfusion Passport or a Master Workshop. This year’s winners will be announced at the exhibition’s opening reception on August 24. Also on display at the Photo Centre will be The FOTOcamp Exhibition, showcasing works by the talented young people, ages 10 to 17, who participated in this summer’s FOTOcamp for Kids. The public is invited to a FREE opening reception for the two exhibitions this Friday, August 23, from 6 to 8 pm. Not only will the Members’ Show awards be announced at this event, so will be the FOTOcamp Student of the Year, who will receive an SLR camera.
