![]() (PRESS RELEASE)_Thursday, October 18, 2023- (Stuart, Fla.) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties held their annual Big Taste of Martin County on Tuesday, October 10, at Atlantic Aviation to kick off the season in Martin County. Known as the premier food and drink tasting event of the Treasure Coast, this year, the event had over seven hundred attendees, breaking the previous attendance record. The event raises money and awareness for mentoring programs. Guests were treated to tasty bites from popular restaurants and beverage companies located throughout Martin County. A special thanks to the Capen brothers for welcoming us back to Atlantic Aviation. The site has been a huge hit with the attendees, sponsors, and restaurants for the past six years, giving this event a unique atmosphere and the VIPs the opportunity to be in the hangar. This year’s campaign message shared with their guests: “It only takes a little to be BIG.” As the largest and most experienced youth mentoring organization in the country. Big Brothers Big Sisters develops positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. Together, we can close the mentorship gap. The community came together in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters through sponsorship, ticket sales, raffle, and silent auction for an incredible cause. Funds raised from the Big Taste of Martin County supported their mission to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth throughout Palm Beach and Martin Counties. The money will support over 480 local kids throughout Palm Beach and Martin Counties. The relationships with the “Bigs” and “Littles” have never been more important than now. Mentoring relationships help fill the gap as youth struggle with mental health and learning loss. The Doris M Carter Family Foundation joined in supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters with a gift to match all donations up to $15,000.
