Kravis Center for the Performing Arts presents an award-winning lineup of the best of Broadway, world-famous concerts, fascinating lectures and renowned artists coming in March. Upcoming events include: Kravis Film & Literary Club Julie Gilbert on The Age of Innocence March 2 at 11:00 a.m. The Age of Innocence, directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder, and narrated by Joanne Woodward is based on a 1920 novel by Edith Wharton. The story beams a sharp thematic focus on the struggle between the individual and the group: manners, morals and code of decorum versus personal convictions. It is also a simmering love story and has a New York setting to rival The Gilded Age. This one won an Oscar for Best Costume Design, and the clothes alone are worth the price of admission. The show features long-time friend, and collaborator Adam Weinberg on acoustic guitar. Presented in its most raw form, Matisyahu will highlight his repertoire allowing his voice and beat-boxing, paired with inventive guitar arrangements, to expand through lyrical intensity and musical improvisation.
