![]() (PRESS RELEASE)_LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. — The wind & rain forced Speak Up for Kids Stanley Klett Sr's, annual Winterfest Carnival into a Santa's Workshop with the elves hard at work distributing toys Saturday morning, and it brought sunshine to the foster children's faces. The ninth annual Winterfest Carnival is sponsored by Speak Up for Kids, with 500 foster children and their caregivers in attendance. The Elves were hard at work distributing bikes to Barbies. It was a true Winter Wonderland in the toy front in Lake Worth. This year’s carnival did not have its usual rides, but it had plenty of games, activities, crafts, toys and a visit from Santa.
The Winterfest was held in honor of the late Stanley Klett Sr., a lifelong guardian ad litem volunteer and advocate for children in Palm Beach County. Coleen LaCosta, Executive Director of Speak Up for Kids said "Winterfest for 2023 got a makeover! Due to the 100% chance of rain and lightning, we switched things up to ensure a fantastic experience for everyone. We transformed Santa Workshop on Lake Worth Road in Lake Worth, where kids and families enjoyed picking out gifts, engaging in crafts, meeting Santa & Belle, and capturing memorable photo ops. While we couldn't have a carnival this time, we had a special day focused on gift selection, fun, and crafts. It was a delightful time for the kids with 20 crafts/table activities, plus popcorn and cotton candy + gift selection & more – it was a blast. With 100 volunteers, the Palm Beach County community really stepped up and made this a memorable occasion, including 200 adults and 400 kids in attendance. Winterfest 2023 was a day to remember & and brought sunshine to everyone! Comments are closed.
